Tycho Manufacturing and Engineering Concern

Among the first major corporations to move out into the Belt was Tycho Manufacturing and Engineering Concern, and a century on it still builds at a scale nobody else attempts. Its headquarters sit at Tycho Station, where the generation ship Nauvoo is under construction. The engineer Malthus Tycho founded the company and his grandson Bredon runs it now. Long before the water companies started cutting ice out of the rings of Saturn, Tycho engineers caught a small comet and parked it in a stable orbit as a resupply point for the Belt. They spent a decade building the reaction drives that spun up Ceres and Eros so the two rocks could be lived in. A plan for floating cities in the high atmosphere of Venus was cancelled eight decades ago and produced decades of litigation with Mao-Kwikowski Mercantile instead. The company turns up in the arguments over space elevators for Mars and Earth as well.
