Truman-class dreadnought (Books)

Second in size only to the largest ships the United Nations Navy flies, the Truman-class dreadnought is built to carry a battle group's flag. The hull runs close to cylindrical, with a bow that widens out like a hammerhead, and six Epstein drives push it just hard enough that the mass never feels slow. Two very large railguns, nine autoloading torpedo bays firing conventional and plasma rounds, and point defense cannons arm it. Its hangars take up to six insertion type dropship skiffs and four repair skiffs at once. The quarters are among the best in the fleet, which counts for something on a line of ship that stays in service longer than most classes last.
