Troika-class dropship

The Troika class is the one Martian dropship that mounts ground facing artillery, so it can set down on a battlefield and lay heavy cover fire while the marines pour out of it. Dropships carry a complement from an orbiting vessel down to a surface, and the Martian Congressional Republic Navy racks Troikas aboard its Scirocco class assault cruisers, its Raptor class fast attack cruisers and its Donnager class battleships. One holds a dozen Force Recon marines in Goliath powered armor along with a complement of standard marines, packed in tight. The ships are armed in their own right and can travel a fair distance from their mothership on thrusters, though they are built above all to come through an atmosphere fast and take the landing on a blocky underbelly.
