Two jobs, one hull: the Scirocco-class assault cruiser is the Martian Congressional Republic Navy's frontline warship and its troop carrier at the same time. At two hundred meters long and seventy two wide, sleek and angular, it runs on four Epstein drives, which makes it fast and quick to answer the helm for its mass. A railgun sits on the dorsal starboard side and gives the class a profile nobody mistakes, and ten torpedo tubes, point defense cannons and grappling cannons for snaring a hull round it out. Ventral hangar bays take three Troika-class dropships, and the ship regularly carries a hundred and twenty Martian Marines plus Force Recon with a full suite of Goliath powered armor, on top of a standard crew. Tactical uplink arrays, long range targeting lasers, armories, repair shops and deep medical facilities make it a command post as much as a warship.
