Saba

Saba is a character belonging to the final third of The Expanse, entering the story in Persepolis Rising, the seventh novel. He is a Belter, a tall, broad man with an easy physical confidence, and a ship's captain by trade, which in the world of the series is a description carrying real weight: from Leviathan Wakes onward, the Belt's identity lives in its ships and the tight crews that run them, a working culture set against the gravity-well powers of Earth and Mars. The circumstances in which Saba appears, the people he stands beside, and the role he takes up are all part of the changed world Persepolis Rising introduces, deep in the series, and his story belongs to that novel and the two that close The Expanse.
