Mulan-class gunship

Nothing the United Nations Navy fields is smaller than the Mulan class gunship, which is also the smallest combat ready hull anywhere. That suits the UNN, since four crew can outfit one and two can manage at need. It is armed the way United Nations ships tend to be, heavily, with a hull thick enough to take a hit, and being small it is quick. The drawback is inside. The sensors and other electronic systems are dated and outclassed, so a Mulan takes more skill and more hands to keep combat effective than newer ships do. The hull is compact and heavily armored, wide at the bow, shouldered halfway down each side, with a single Epstein drive at the rear, at least one point defense cannon forward and two torpedo bays. Because the class lacks the sophistication of newer vessels, the navy tends to staff it with lower ranking crews and save its best pilots for larger ships.
