Martian Marine Corps
The Martian Marine Corps is the marine force of Mars, its soldiers sealed in armor with heads-up displays, tough enough to walk them through a nuclear crater minutes after the blast.
On Ganymede its squads guard a greenhouse dome while United Nations Marines watch over an identical one two and a half kilometers off, the Martians passing the hours by inventing nicknames and lives for the Marines across the way. A year and a half ago no such sides existed, but Earth and Mars have since split the system between them, and neither will give up the moon that feeds the Jovian system. Gunnery Sergeant Roberta Draper leads one of those squads.
