The Martian Congressional Republic is the government of Mars, led by a president, with a congress that sends orders to its navy and a flag of one star and thirty stripes.
The letters MCRN mark the hardware of its navy, and its ship Donnager takes charge of the inquiry into the loss of the Canterbury. When an attack costs more than two thousand Martian lives, its president blames the Belt as a whole, orders a military cordon around Belt stations, bases and ships, and hopes Earth will join through their shared Coalition.
