Laconia system
A planetary system named in the final third of The Expanse, around Persepolis Rising.
The Laconia system is the name of a planetary system in The Expanse, and it belongs to the series' final third, coming into the story around Persepolis Rising, the seventh novel. The books open a long way from it: Leviathan Wakes is set entirely within humanity's own Solar System, divided among Earth under the United Nations, an independent and heavily armed Mars, and the Belt, the working class of the asteroids, with James Holden and the crew of the Rocinante at the middle of its crises. The Laconia system is no part of that map. What the name refers to, what the system holds, and what happens there are told in Persepolis Rising and the two novels that close the series, and the story that gives the name its weight belongs to them.
