A planetary system of a later age.
The Laconia system is the name of a planetary system that belongs to a later age. Humanity starts out a long way from it, entirely within its own Solar System, divided among Earth under the United Nations, an independent and heavily armed Mars, and the Belt, the working class of the asteroids, with James Holden and the crew of the Rocinante at the middle of its crises. The Laconia system is no part of that map. What the name refers to, what the system holds, and what happens there all belong to that later age, and so does everything that gives the name its weight.
