Laconia gate is the name of a location in The Expanse, and it belongs to the series' final third, coming into the story around Persepolis Rising, the seventh novel. Both words in the name point deep into the series: neither a place called Laconia nor anything called a gate belongs to the world the novels open in, where Leviathan Wakes finds the whole of humanity inside one Solar System, divided among Earth under the United Nations, an independent military Mars, and the Belt's scattered stations and ships.
