A sparse collection of asteroids in the inner Belt, closer to the Sun than the main body of it, named for 434 Hungaria.
The Hungaria group is the innermost dense concentration of asteroids in the Sol system, a sparse collection riding closer to the Sun than the main Belt. It takes its name from the largest of them, 434 Hungaria, which is small at roughly eleven kilometers. Most Hungarias are E-type asteroids, carrying enough enstatite at the surface to push their albedo above 0.30. They are bright, and bright rock is a good place for something smaller nearby to go unnoticed.
