Filip Inaros is a young Belter who leads a team of ten volunteers in a raid on the Martian military yard on Callisto, his first command, followed because of who his father is.
Filip hates the Martian marines on principle, and what he feels when his crew trusts him with their lives is pride rather than fear. During the getaway he slits his own suit so the rushing air blasts grit from a jammed brace, and he leaves the crewmates taking fire at the armory behind rather than risk the escape. His crew call him by pet names like Filipito and bosslet.
