A vast slab of armor, rail guns, and torpedo tubes with a crew numbering over a thousand, she embodies the military edge that lets Mars stand as Earth's rival despite a fraction of its population. On patrol, the Donnager protects Martian shipping lanes and hunts pirates in the outer Solar System. In the chaos after the ice hauler Canterbury is destroyed, she takes aboard James Holden and the handful of survivors from the Canterbury's shuttle, putting a civilian crew at the heart of an interplanetary crisis.
