Dimitri Havelock is a security contractor working as a detective for Star Helix Security on Ceres Station in Leviathan Wakes, partnered with Joe Miller. He was born on Earth and has worked there for a total of six months in his life. The rest of his career has been off the planet: eight years on Earth's orbital stations, three of them as a vice officer on the Lagrange stations between Earth and Luna, and thirteen years across eight different corporations before Star Helix, among them Pinkwater Security, El-Hashem Cooperative and Stone and Sibbets, where he was one of two Earthers on a long-haul crew of twenty. Being an Earther among Belters, he reads a steady lack of respect in the people he works with. He is pale, with light hair, a square jaw and dark eyes, good in a crisis and defensive about being the outsider.
