Carlos c de Baca (Books)

Carlos c de Baca, called Bull, is an Earther in the service of the Outer Planets Alliance. Raised in the housing complexes of the New Mexican Shared Interest Zone on a crowded Earth, he works his way through a United Nations Marine Corps hitch that stations him on Ceres, and comes out of it tied to the Belt's cause and to Fred Johnson, the former UN colonel who anchors the OPA's respectable wing. Bull ships out as chief of security aboard the Behemoth, the OPA's enormous flagship, a job below his ability handed to him for political reasons: on a Belter ship making the Belt's proudest voyage, an Earther cannot be captain. Bull's bluntness about that arithmetic, and his competence inside it, define his part.
