Bush shipyards
Two shipyards in Luna orbit under a single name: the civilian Bush Orbital Shipyards, building cruisers, shuttles and transports, and the Bush Naval Shipyards, where most of the United Nations Navy is built under heavy security.
The Bush Shipyards sit in orbit around Luna, and despite the singular name there are two of them. The Bush Orbital Shipyards are civilian work: light cruisers, the passenger shuttles on the Earth-Luna run, yachts and racing ships for the very rich, long-haul transports servicing Mars, the Belt and the outer planets. The UN runs it, but it is not a military installation. The crews and contractors are civilians, there is a small bar, and the Marine presence is one quiet squad keeping the peace. The Bush Naval Shipyards are the opposite of that. Most of the United Nations Navy comes out of them, from dreadnoughts down to gunships, and because experimental work goes on there the security is tighter than at most UN installations. The whole complex grew from an aging orbital station of the early 21st century, the one that first supplied the run to Mars.
