Passenger service between Ceres and Eros runs on a regular schedule, operated by BELTRANS AG, and the Belt Transit Ferry is what it runs. The ship is small, cheap and overcrowded, and the air recyclers give off the plastic-and-resin smell of the long-life industrial models used in warehouses and fuel depots. There are no cabins, only row on row of formed laminate seating and two long walls of bunks stacked five high that passengers hot swap. The bar never closes and the drinks are cheap. If a fight breaks out, the crew pump riot gas into the cabin, put everyone out, and restrain whoever was involved. It is a draconian system and it does keep the passengers polite.
