Andronicus-class destroyer
A United Nations Navy destroyer built around sensors and lock on systems rather than volume of fire, carrying roughly half the armament of its sister class.
The Andronicus-class destroyer breaks the United Nations Navy habit of building a heavy tank and hanging guns off it. The hull is wide near the stern, where engineering decks feed three large Epstein drives, and tapers forward to three sensor antennas at the bow, which is where the name Blade of the United Nations comes from. Armament runs to a single keel mounted rapid fire high pressure railgun, full point defense coverage, two bow facing torpedo launchers and two facing aft, roughly half what its sister class carries. What the class spends its tonnage on instead is sensors and lock on systems: precise hits rather than volume of fire, and the ability to scramble what an enemy ship can see.
