Adolphus Murtry (Books)
Adolphus Murtry is the head of security for Royal Charter Energy aboard the Edward Israel, a small, lean man whose blue eyes are hard and whose whole career runs through corporate prisons and industrial security.
When the landing pad on the planet below explodes and people die, Murtry answers with a cold, focused anger. He refuses to pull anyone back up, wants a show of strength on the ground, keeps every decision for himself and quietly asks Havelock to watch the Belters among the crew. One of the scientists jokes that he has kept them all under his thumb for the whole voyage out, and Elvi likes him for caring.
