Gramercy Theatre
The Gramercy Theatre is a venue on 23rd Street in Manhattan, near the spot where the first Carl appeared.
The Gramercy Theatre stands at the corner of 23rd and Lexington in New York City, next door to a Chipotle Mexican Grill. It is a theater building in the ordinary sense, and its part in events comes from its address rather than from anything staged inside it; the first Carl turned up close by.
When April May needed Andy Skampt and his video equipment, she directed him to meet her at the theater. The building served as the landmark, a fixed spot on the street where the two could find each other.
Once the Carls began drawing crowds, the surrounding block turned into a gathering place.
