Lee Shi-Woon
Lee Shi-Woon is the bullied high school student at the centre of The Breaker, a frail first year who talks a new teacher with ties to the hidden Murim into training him in martial arts.
The Breaker opens on Lee Shi-Woon, a first year student at Nine Dragons High School who hands over money to the boys who beat him and cannot bring himself to fight back. He is thin and physically frail, short of breath after the simplest exercise, and he hides what is happening from the adults around him rather than risk making it worse.
His circumstances shift when a new teacher, Han Chun-Woo, joins the school. Chun-Woo is a martial artist of the Murim, the hidden world of sects and clans that runs alongside ordinary society, and Shi-Woon presses him for lessons until the man agrees to take him on. The training that follows is blunt, painful and nothing like what Shi-Woon imagines martial arts to be.
