Hyuk So-Chun holds the position of assistant leader of the Heavenly Way Sect in The Breaker, and the Murim regards him as a prodigy of his generation. He is a young man with sleek black hair, usually in formal dress, and his looks draw comment from nearly everyone who meets him.
He is serious and clever, and his instinct in a confrontation is to talk first and strike only once talking has failed. Trained apart from other people his own age, he is reserved to the point of isolation and has little practice at ordinary conversation, which leaves him observing the Murim and its people from a certain distance. He is protective of his school's standing and tolerates nobody speaking against the Heavenly Way.
