Yarrow is a canton of the Empire, its High City home to the gentry.
Yarrow's canals hold many reaper-backs, carnivorous turtles not much smaller than a man, with very pretty shells and a bite that can take off an arm. One Apoth signum counts them more dangerous than anything else on the Great Canals except the smugglers. Those canals link the Bay of Yarrow with the River Asigis and the wealth that lies beyond it.
Among Yarrow folk of the region, a greenish tint to the whites of the eyes is common. The land has swamps as well as canals, and a king of its own.
