In A Drop of Corruption, Sabudara is one of the wardens who ride with Signum Malo through the canal country of the Yarrow jungle. She is Yarrow-born and speaks Pithian, so Malo translates her questions for the imperial officers she works alongside. She is steady at the job: she takes the reins of the boats, watches the canopies for what should not be in them, and traces protective signs in the air for her gods when a place unsettles her. Her register with those officers is composed and lightly mocking in equal measure.
