Daretana
Daretana is a canton out on the Empire's rim, in jungle country.
Daretana has had an Iudex Investigator for only four months, and the work so far has mostly meant chasing pay fraud among the officers stationed there. When the post was created, the Engineers cut down a stand of trees and made Immunis Anagosa Dolabra a house of fretvine, the altered vine the Apothetikals have tamed so that it grows into any shape. Tossfrogs chirrup around it, and mika larks call.
Most people in Daretana, as Din tells it, join the Iyalets to better their position, and climbing the local bureaucracy matters to them, though Dolabra scoffs at the idea.
