A brilliant and eccentric Immunis of the Iudex who is handed the Empire's impossible crimes, and who reasons them out from her own rooms behind a red or yellow blindfold while her engraver does the looking.
Ana Dolabra spends much of the day behind a blindfold, a wide strip of red or yellow cloth tied over her yellow eyes, on the grounds that seeing nothing at all helps her think. She is an Immunis of the Iudex, the investigative arm of the Empire of Khanum, reclusive by habit, and she keeps to her own rooms where she can and sends her engraver out to do the looking for her. Her manner runs from diplomatic courtesy to calculated irreverence in the space of a sentence, and her reasoning is exact enough that the Empire gives her the crimes no ordinary investigator can make sense of. She is the investigator of both The Tainted Cup and A Drop of Corruption.
