Twin Martial Souls
Two martial souls awakened at a single Martial Soul Awakening Ceremony, an outcome that demands near equal but very different parental martial souls and occurs perhaps once in ten thousand births.
Twin Martial Souls, also called Twin Spirits, describes the outcome when a person awakens two martial souls rather than one at the Martial Soul Awakening Ceremony. Those who have them usually possess Innate Full Soul Power. A martial soul passes down from the stronger parent, but when both are close in strength it is drawn at random, and that is where mutations and twin souls arise. Martial Soul Hall records set out two conditions: the parents' martial souls must differ, the further apart the better, and be near equal in quality. Even then the chance runs at one in a thousand, or one in ten thousand. A soul master with two martial souls can carry as many as eighteen soul rings, nine to each. The arrangement carries risk, since a body may fail under the strain of rings on both souls, and martial souls of opposing attributes can clash inside their owner.
