Among the many martial souls catalogued across the Soul Land novels, the Spectre stands out as a rare beast-type soul with a dark pedigree. In origin it is an evil spirit of the kind associated with dark spirit masters, and a shade of that character clings to it no matter who wields it.

Its strengths run to evasion and speed. A Spectre soul excels at slipping physical attacks, holds a strong defense against both physical and energy strikes, and sharply raises its user's quickness, with light and holy energies its one notable weakness. Like every martial soul in the setting it awakens at age six and grows through spirit rings, but its ghostly nature marks its holders out as unusual wherever they train.
