Soul Power

Soul power is the energy a spirit master draws through their martial soul, gathered from the origin energy of heaven and earth and turned to their own use. Children on the Douluo Continent are tested for it at six years old, at the same ceremony that awakens their martial soul, and only those who carry it can train as spirit masters at all. How strong one grows depends on how much soul power they hold and on its density and purity. The years before twenty decide most of what follows, with rank 30 treated as the dividing line, and growth stays fastest until about thirty, after which the body settles and progress slows. Innate soul power, the amount present before the awakening, marks a child's ceiling, and rich feeding in the first six years can raise it.
