Man Faced Demon Spider

The Man Faced Demon Spider is a soul beast species feared through the rest of the beast world, called the predator of predators and reckoned rare. Its body runs more than a meter and a half across, black and glossy, carried on eight spear like legs over three meters long that pierce the ground without a sound. White lines on the lower abdomen form the shape of a snarling human face, and eight small eyes glint faint purple beneath it. The legs are the toughest part of it, many times harder than refined iron, and the shell turns a dull weapon aside. The body is poisonous, carrying both a nerve poison and a corrosive that eats bone, and the web comes in an instant, covering ten times the spider's own span, sticky and tough and near impossible to dodge. Soul power taken from one is violent enough to make its rings and bones dangerous to absorb.
