Joust For a Spouse Festival

The Joust For a Spouse Festival is a Spirit Pagoda event, held at the Mingdu Coliseum in Mingdu City to choose a husband for a young woman of the pagoda, with a hundred thousand year spirit soul announced as the dowry. It opens on the eighteenth day of the seventh lunar month, and registration closes at noon three days beforehand. Sign ups run heavy enough that a screening stage comes first, clearing out weaker cultivations. A continuous elimination round then cuts the field to a hundred, who are split into ten groups for round robins scored three marks for a win, one each for a draw and none for a loss. The winner of each group makes the final ten. Everyone in the top hundred takes a black spirit soul, the top three of each group take more by ranking, and the final ten are rewarded heavily and earn the right to be chosen from.
