The Golden Dragon is a supreme dragon bloodline of Soul Land lore, one of the original True Dragon lines descended from the Golden Dragon King.
Among the dragon bloodlines described across the Soul Land novels, the Golden Dragon holds the place of ancestor of strength. It is one of the original pure True Dragon lines, paired in the lore with the Silver Dragon, and it descends from the Golden Dragon King, inheriting the element of ultimate strength that lets it suppress other dragons through sheer weight of bloodline.
Creation legend gives the line a celestial origin: the primal Dragon God bathed for eons in the essences of sun and moon, and the sun's portion gave birth to the Golden Dragon, leaving it the gift called Brilliance of the Sun, the ability to recharge its power from sunlight itself. In the setting's hierarchies of beasts and bloodlines, gold sits at the very top of the dragon lines.
