Early on they exist as legend: names attached to temples, islands, and old stories, powers that mortals worship rather than meet. The lore holds that godhood is no simple extension of cultivation but a different order of existence, reached only by the rarest figures in history, and that the divine realms keep their own laws and hierarchies far from mortal sight.
