Every child on the Douluo Continent dreams of awakening a mighty martial soul; Blue Silver Grass is the setting's shorthand for the opposite. Introduced at the very start of Soul Land, the first series, it is a small pale-blue weed that grows absolutely everywhere, and as a martial soul it is the byword for trash, the awakening that draws pity rather than congratulations.
The first series builds its opening on exactly that verdict: its protagonist's awakening produces Blue Silver Grass, and every door on the continent judges him by it. The plant itself has one genuine virtue, a resilience beyond any other flora, bending and regrowing where prouder growth breaks, and it keeps that stubborn vitality wherever it takes root.
