South Korea

South Korea, formally the Republic of Korea, covers the southern half of the Korean peninsula, and it is both the main setting of Solo Leveling and the home of Sung Jinwoo. Gates open across the country and are handled through the Korean Hunters Association, the body that grades awakened humans, sells entry permits and oversees raids. Below the association sit the guilds, where most working hunters make their living: the Hunters Guild, the White Tiger Guild, the Fame Guild, the Knights Guild, the Fiend Guild and the Black Tortoise Guild are among the largest. Korea holds ten S-Rank Hunters. Even so, its S-Ranks are widely regarded abroad as among the weakest of any major country, and Korea carries the distinction of being the only nation to have lost part of its territory to a gate.
