It stands among the four nations that have cleared an S-Rank Gate with no outside assistance, alongside China, America and France, which places it in the top tier of hunter powers. Its best-known hunter is Yuri Orloff, an S-Rank whose barrier magic can seal an area off rather than fight through it, a capability with commercial value abroad as much as at home; he charges for the service and negotiates his own terms. The country's sheer size shapes the problem it faces, since that much territory means field-type dungeons are a standing condition rather than an occasional emergency.
