Japan

Japan is an island country in East Asia and one of the major hunter powers in the world of Solo Leveling. It fields one of the largest rosters of S-Rank Hunters of any nation, and its hunting community is organized around two institutions: the Japanese Hunters Association, the national body that licenses hunters and oversees gates, and the Draw Sword Guild, the country's strongest and largest guild. Gates open on Japanese soil as they do everywhere else, which makes the country's S-Ranks public figures at home, and the strongest of them, Goto Ryuji, is counted among the best-known hunters alive. Japan is regularly compared with neighboring South Korea, and in that comparison the Japanese hunting community is regarded as by far the stronger of the two.
