Essence Stones

Essence stones are the crystals recovered from the bodies of magic beasts in Solo Leveling, and they are what makes hunting a paying profession rather than a public service. A stone's worth follows the rank and quality of the beast it came out of: E-Rank stones sell for very little, being common and poor, while S-Rank stones go for millions. Rank also shows in color, with D-Rank stones white, A-Rank red and S-Rank purple, and stones taken from exceptionally powerful S-Rank beasts have been seen to come out black. Larger beasts tend to yield larger stones. Past their sale value, essence stones are forged into weapons and equipment carrying special properties, and they serve as a dense, long-lasting power source in their own right.
