China, formally the People's Republic of China, is the largest country in East Asia and a military superpower in Solo Leveling, holding more S-Rank Hunters than any other nation in the region. It is one of only four countries to have cleared an S-Rank Gate without outside assistance, alongside America, Russia and France. China is also the one major nation that does not use the E through S grading scale. Its hunters are rated on a system of one to five stars instead, which is calibrated to its own population rather than to the international standard. The exception within that system is Liu Zhigang, the strongest hunter in the country, who is rated at seven stars in acknowledgment that the ordinary ceiling does not describe him.
