Supply

Supply is the silo's fabrication and provisioning department, floors in the lower half of the shaft where nearly everything the community uses is made, remade, or rationed out. Its counters and workshops sit between the down deep's machine floors and the levels above, and everything passes through it: machined parts, wiring, cloth, tools, the thousand small goods a sealed world cannot order from anywhere else. Supply's workers are makers and keepers of inventory at once, famously exact about requisitions and famously loyal to their own. In a community where nothing new comes in from outside, the people who fabricate and allocate are quiet powers, and Supply knows it.
