Cam

Cam is a young porter of the silo, one of the carriers who haul goods, messages, and everything in between up and down the great spiral staircase. He comes from a farming family in the sublevels and took to portering the way many young people of the lower floors do, trading dirt under the nails for legs of iron and a schedule that never sits still. He works the same routes as his friend Mission, and the two share the easy shorthand of colleagues who pass each other a dozen times a week on the stairs. Good-natured and a little lucky by reputation, Cam is the sort of porter dispatchers like: quick, uncomplaining, and glad of the work.
