Nelson

Nelson is a young technician in IT. He is attached to the department's Suit Lab, the workshop where the silo's sealed outdoor suits are assembled and maintained, and he knows its gaskets, seals, and materials the way a farmer knows soil. Earnest, deferential, and eager to be of use, Nelson is the sort of junior man who follows procedure to the letter and still lies awake wondering whether he missed a step. He has a habit of saying slightly more than he means to, not from malice but from an honest reflex to be helpful, and his conscientiousness runs a good deal deeper than his rank.
