Violets are a midColor of the Society and its artist caste, working in every creative profession from acting and painting to music, architectural design, and bio-modification. Their numbers are among the smallest of any color, reckoned as rare as Whites. Their official sigil is three arrows radiating from a central circle, though it is also described as shifting constantly, as befits the caste. Violets are raised and schooled in facilities called Groves, where from a young age they are made to take psychedelics and other controlled substances meant to dull their qualitative faculties and loosen their free association so that they produce more art. Many leave the Grove unstable. They paint, sculpt, act, sing, and make most of the entertainment of the Society, and their training as actors puts many of them on holoNews as reporters and hosts.
