Valentin
Valentin is a Gray colonel in Golden Son, a twenty-year Legion veteran who leads a two-man protection detail for hire, flatly professional and prepared for all eventualities.
A veteran of the Society's Legions, Valentin works as a Gray colonel in the private security trade. He and his lieutenant, Sun-hwa, wear the service bars of the Legions pinned to civilian clothes, each having completed the mandatory twenty years under arms, and together they hire out as a two-man protection detail for highColor clients with dangerous errands.
Valentin's manner is flat, exact, and unbothered. Asked whether his team are mercenaries, he answers that they are good enough to have lived this long, and his preparation bears the answer out, with contingencies planned and support arranged for all eventualities before a job begins. He is competent, discreet, and wholly unsentimental about his work.
