An Obsidian called Big Brother by his own and the Unshorn for a tail of valor never cut, Valdir is honest, proud, and plain about his feelings, and a poor teacher besides.
Valdir the Unshorn is an Obsidian, called Big Brother by the other Obsidians. His features are delicate, his cheeks gaunt and freckled, his nose broken twice, and his bones avian in structure. His black eyes carry flecks of silver, his lips are full and notched, and Ephraim ti Horn notes his batwing ears. The name Unshorn comes from his tail of valor, which has never been cut because he has never lost a battle and his valor has gone untouched. He is honest and proud, and he wears his feelings openly, or at least less privately than he supposes. He is a poor teacher, and falls back on shouting to make himself understood.
