The Academy
The Society's naval academy in the Asteroid Belt, where sponsored Golds train to command warships.
The Academy of Astral Warfare, called simply the Academy, is where the Society trains the Gold officers of its navy. It sits among the asteroids of the Belt, and a place there must be sponsored: a patron puts the application forward and funds the tuition. Even with a patron the school is notoriously hard to enter, with the highest rejection rate of any Gold institution in the solar system. Unlike the Institute, which takes students between sixteen and eighteen, Golds of any age may apply, so a single intake can span a wide range of ages. Graduates take up posts in the Society Navy as Praetors and Imperators.
