The Praetorian Guard is the Sovereign's own force, Obsidians and Golds clad in purple and black who close around her and fly her clear when fighting erupts at a gala.
Pliny warns that if Mars is slow to answer the Sons of Ares, the Praetorians, Luneborn who in his view do not understand Mars, will act on their own.
