Magnus au Grimmus, called the Ash Lord, is a Gold of Earth, Primus of House Grimmus, and ArchImperator of the Society military. He is over seven feet tall and, at a hundred years of age, as heavy as a Telemanus. In battle he fights as a destroyer. Where other Golds are taught at the Academy to seize and preserve enemy ships because of the resources and money it takes to build them, he will break centuries-old vessels without regard for their heritage, their crews, or the expense, and with his back to a wall he wins at any cost. He is the father of Atalantia, Aja, and Moira.
