Cassius au Bellona is a young Gold whom Darrow meets at the Institute entrance tests, handsome and talkative, a son of the Sixth Fleet's Imperator, Tiberius au Bellona.
He greets Darrow with a flood of easy talk, tries to win their handshake and loses, then graciously forgives the farplanet nobody his low birth. With a wink he offers to pay for a night in the clubs of Agea. The family record on Darrow's datapad calls his father perhaps the only match on Mars for ArchGovernor Augustus, and Darrow gathers that the two houses loathe each other.
