Aja au Grimmus is a Gold of Earth, the eldest daughter of Imperator Magnus au Grimmus of House Grimmus. She serves as the Protean Knight, one of the twelve Olympic Knights of the Society, and as the chief bodyguard and constant shadow of Sovereign Octavia au Lune. Dark-skinned, tall, and powerfully made, she is spoken of as the deadliest blade in the Solar System still in service.
Aja is one of the last students trained by Lorn au Arcos in the Willow Way, and some say the pupil outstrips the master. Her hearing is keen enough to count a stranger's heartbeat across a room. To most she reads as amoral and pitiless, an executioner in a knight's cape, but her ferocity is anchored in loyalty, to her family, to her people, and above all to Octavia, who treats her as a daughter.
